Tyler serves as the founding pastor of Carolina Forest UMC, having been first appointed in June 2024 after serving in Atlanta, GA, North Augusta, Hampton, and Aiken, SC.  He is married to Lauren, and together they have two children, Ava Grace and Ellie Hope.  They enjoy playing in arcades and creating fun together.  

Tyler enjoys sports with his friends, telling dad jokes and experiencing a good story.

He holds a BS in Mathematics Teaching from Clemson University and a M.Div. from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University.  ‍

Tyler has a deep conviction for letting people know they matter to God, helping make meaning out of life, encouraging people as they process their stories, and believing that hope is a direction and we make the way one day, one story, one conversation, and one breath at a time.
